Dhankot
Dhankot is a major tourist attraction near Gurgaon. Its importance lies in mythology and is believed to be the place which supplied milk to Guru Dronacharya and his pupils. The place holds importance in Buddhist history too as it is believed to have been visited by Lord Buddha. It is known as Thullkottiha in Buddhist literatures.
 
Sanghel
Sanghel is a natural attraction in Gurgaon and is noted for the fact that it is the highest mountain in the region. Located on the Nuh Hodal Road, it is a scenic locale and is popular amongst tourists and locals. The place is home to a good number of stone figures of Varaha and Narasimha and Lakshmi. The place has even reported findings of ancient grey wares and paintings.
 
Farukhnagar
This is a medieval town laid down by Nawab Faujdar Khan. Established in the 18th century, the town is interestingly octagonal in shape and is home to a number of tourist attractions. The major notable buildings here being the Sheesh Mahal and the Jami Masjid. The beautiful village of Mubarakpur lies close by.
 
Sheesh Mahal
Also known as the Palace of Mirrors, the Sheesh Mahal is one of the best known attractions here. It was built by the founder of the town, Nawab Faujdar Khan in 1793. Made of local stone, slate and lime, the building is rectangular in shape and is double storied. The interiors of the palace have been done heavily in mirror, which in turn gives it its name. It is pretty similar to the mirrored palaces from the Mughals.
 
Sohna
This is a small town near Gurgaon and is an important tourist attraction. The place is called Sohna because it is home to a stream which gets gold dust after heavy rains. This spot lies amidst narrow paths that can be accessed only on foot. Sohna is also known for its hot springs. The waters are sulphurous and are considered sacred and medicinal. A large number of devotees take a dip here on Somavati Amavasya and other auspicious days.
 
Pataudi Palace
Located in the village Pataudi, this is the royal residence of Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. The palace is brilliantly done in white by Austrian architect Heinz. The palace complex sprawls over 25 acres of land with lovely gardens and lawns. The palace is now a famous heritage hotel.
 
Nuh
Nuh is a small village near Gurgaon, famous for its salt trade. It is also home to a tank made of red sandstone with beautiful floral motifs. The tomb of Sheikh Musa is also present here. It is a remarkable combination of Rajput and Muslim architecture. This tomb is particularly famous for its shaky minarets.
 
Karna Lake
This is a major natural attraction near Gurgaon. This place is known for its connections with Karan, the legendary hero from Mahabharata. The lake affords a good marine and avian wild life. Good water based sports are also available here for the enjoyment of the tourists.
 
Urusvati Museum of Folklore
This is an interesting place that houses a treasure of Indian folk stories. This is one of its kind in the country, that preserves and showcases legendry love stories of country. The museum opens from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on all days except on Mondays and the entry fee is Rs. 25/- per person.
 
Sohna Car Rally
This is a unique car rally held in Sohna near Gurgaon. It celebrates old cars and is a major event held in February. The rally starts in Delhi and passes through Gurgaon to reach Sohna. The rally sees the participation of the finest of cars of the bygone era. The event is backed by the Haryana Tourism Department.
 
Masani Fair
This is a famous religious fair, celebrated to honor the goddess of small pox, Sheetla Mata. Held in the month of April-May, the fair is flocked by devotees who come here to worship the deity who can save them from the dreaded disease
